About Kimlai Yingling

I’m a food and travel writer, culinary producer and food news curator with work that has appeared in The HuffPo, MSN, AOL, Entrepreneur, The Daily Meal and EatinAsian to name a few. I love sharing my food and travel experiences and currently write, produce and host a weekly cooking show called “Chomp On This with Kimlai.” Past work included writing, producing and hosting 23 episodes of a series

I created called “Practically Cooking” which were featured on MSN and AOL. Also created daily food news content for AOL.com and The Savory.

I started at Entrepreneur.com where I wrote, produced and hosted weekly webcasts targeting the younger generation with business topics and tips. The webcasts were fun and a great learning experience plus they pulled in over 800,000 hits monthly. I then branched off to create my own food blog called EatinAsian.com (and then some). I reside in Los Angeles, have a degree in communications and I’m a member of the exclusive culinary content creators at The Daily Meal. More recently I was featured in an episode of the Today Show for the “Guac Off”, which showcased my tasty 5-minute spicy guacamole. You can catch me on Cooking Channel “Food: Fact or Fiction,” on Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family” and the KTLA morning show.

What a treat to spend an afternoon with Sahil Chawla owner of Masala Grill, share a table with some pretty awesome folks and try a whole bunch of tasty Indian food. Masala Grill is totally unassuming but walk into the front doors and you’ll be blown away by the authentic yet modern take on traditional Indian dishes. This is #comfortfood.

There’s a good mix of traditional, Indochinese fushion and what’s authentic to Sahil. Nothing was overly spicy but if you want more 🔥 they will totally accommodate.

My favs were the coconut chicken curry, gobi manchurian and the paneer tikka quesadilla. Oh and the fresh naan straight out of the 800° tandoor. I recommend giving this place a try! If you want more deets shoot me a pm. You got questions. I got the answers. 🤣
